Today, called by the collective sense of responsibility, the world’s most accomplished and respected practitioners of architecture, engineering, the sciences, design, communication, and the arts, some of whom were students of HfG Ulm alumni, come together in Autumn School as teachers so that they may continue to put forth new propositions through their observations of society and the world that will lead us to the discovery of new problems to be solved, to put forth the old school design methodology based upon both the sciences and the arts, to form the new Bauhaus School and HfG Ulm, to make society’s problems visible and find solutions for them. For the role of these vocations is to shape the world, to better society. Coming to Autumn School in Singapore every year, from Europe, Japan, Asia, and the world over throughout the year, these masters will bring their own diverse observations, and keen narratives, of the society and of the world, to be interpreted, to be constructed, and therein to discover the real problems to be solved. |
